Arkadelphia, a small city in Arkansas, is located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. It is a smaller town, but filled with amenities. If you're looking for a place to raise your family, this is an excellent location. It has two universities, Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State, and the public school system is outstanding. Both Arkadelphia High School and Perritt Elementary School have been rated National Schools of Excellence.
The advantage of living in Arkadelphia is that you have small town closeness without being secluded. It is right next to many parks, and the Feaster Trail runs through the city. Feaster Trail is a lighted and scenic biking and jogging trail used by many of the town's population. Arkadelphia offers many other recreational activities, the city is right next to the Ouachita National Forest, and many people spend their free time hiking through it. If you are interested in camping or fishing, the DeGray Lake Resort State Parky is a great destination. And if you're looking to cool down during the summer months, there is the Arkadelphia Aquatic Park.
The city has a very active and involved government, and is constantly planning town events. Recently the town hosted a croquet tournament, had a BBQ week, and had a car show called Cruisin' in the Park. Events are planned throughout the year, so there is always something to do in Arkadelphia.
