About Douglas

The city of Douglas is located on the border between Arizona and Mexico. It is located in the Cochise County and it currently has more than 18,000 residents. The city was first founded because of local copper mines. Copper is one of the five "C's" of Arizona. These include Copper, Cotton, Cattle, Citrus, and Climate. The area also has a strong history of cattle ranching because of the abundance of open land. There are many historical sites to see while visiting the town of Douglas. Also, the Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Preserves are nearby and offer over 200 different species of wildlife. Bird watching is a popular activity because of the warm weather and clear blue skies.

Both the Douglas, Arizona yellow pages and the Douglas, Arizona business directory can provide other opportunities for places to visit and things to see while in the town. It is always helpful to plan ahead when trying to create a fun and fulfilling trip to a new place. One remarkable tourist spot is the historical Gadsden hotel. Built in 1907, this five-story hotel provided lodgings for cattle ranchers, businessmen, and miners. The hotel was ruined by a fire and then rebuilt in 1929.
