Facebook and AmEx Big Break for Small Business Contest!

Facebook Big Break for Small Business

We’ve praised American Express OPEN before for their groundbreaking efforts to promote small businesses. Last year, the AmEx team partnered with social networking powerhouse Facebook to create the independent version of Black Friday. The joint venture known as Small Business Saturday will likely become a yearly fixture similar to its corporate counterpart. With such a successful track record, it comes as no surprise to learn that these two teamed up again to assist non-corporate companies across the nation.

We strongly recommend that all qualified entrepreneurs enter the Facebook Big Break for Small Business Contest! This exciting enterprise kicks off on May 20th, 2011! To enter the content, visit the Small Business Saturday Facebook page and fill out the required questionnaire. Additionally, submit 3 company photos to complete the submission process. Consumers have the ability to share this information with their favorite brick and mortar businesses via Facebook as well. Two lucky grand prize winners will receive $20,000 cash to fuel their advertising budgets, plus an all expenses paid trip the Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. Another 10 runners up get $2,500 each in credits for Facebook display advertising. Once the grand prize winners arrive at their destination, they’ll go through an intense 2 day crash course in online marketing. The training sessions will focus on utilizing various social media platforms, plug-ins, consumer engagement, and website revitalization. These exclusive sit-ins will be featured on the AmEx Facebook page and microsite, so everyone wins in a way.

Social media allows business owners and their employees to connect with consumers in numerous ways. While there are no official rules to the online marketing game, many struggle with finding a way to reach out to their customers in an appropriate manner. Established brands don’t really have this problem because they don’t have to work hard in order to create awareness. Still, cultivating long standing relationships involves a lot more than mere flash in the plan “likes”. LocalPAGES is pleased to announce that some of our staff members will be attending AdTech New York on November 3rd and 4th! We’re really excited about this wonderful networking opportunity and look forward to forging new relationships. You’ll be able to find us in the exhibit hall among the other 272 companies. We’ll be waiting for you in booth # 2018. Just look from the LocalPAGES logo, which will be prominently displayed in a large banner. Several team members will be in attendance, but you’ll definitely want to meet our star Affiliate Manager Imelda Dobbin! She’s an excellent conversationalist who specializes in publisher partnerships. She’s well versed in all things marketing, so be sure to pick her brain!

LocalPages Coming to Ad:Tech NY 2009!

The LocalPages Team is very to happy to announce that we will be exhibiting at Ad:Tech NY 2009. We have been
experiencing a lot of growth these past few years and realize that in all of the madness, we have yet to make our
debut as an exhibitor at an Ad:Tech conference.

We have many dear friends and partners in the industry and cannot wait for a chance to see many of the familiar
faces that we have come to know, all in one common space. In addition, we gladly anticipate getting to discover and discuss new partnerships and opportunities with others on both the publishing and advertising sides of the business.

There are lots of new, exciting things going on at LocalPages and we look forward to the chance to share them with you!
