About Arcadia

Arcadia is a portion of a big cluster of many cities, it is a part of Rosemead, Temple City, San Marino, Monterey Park, and San Gabriel. It is situated to the west of the valley of San Gabriel, and it has a growing population of Asians. It is a home to the Botanic Garden and County Arboretum of Los Angeles. It has been estimated in the year 2005 that the population of this city is 56,565. This city is being named after Arcadia in Greece. The beginning of Acadia goes back to about 3,000 years to the Gabrielino/Tongva Native American settlements, the members of whose were attracted to the ripe, water rich land of Southern California to gather and hunt. Arcadia had seen it's first of all the notable settler who was Hugo Reid who had accomplished the land by the Spanish Government, this made him the first of all the individual owners of land and the first to have made a modern impact on land by building structures and stocking cattle. With the population starting with 500 and an economy that is booming entirely based on sporting, hospitality, gambling, and entertainment opportunities, Arcadia became a city back in 1903. Ever since then, Arcadia has matured and grown into a city, a city of heritage, beauty, success, and distinction.

During the World War I, the city of Arcadia became a home to the Field Balloon School of the U.S Army. Here the observers were being trained so that they watch the enemy activity from the hot air balloon. After the end of World War I, the population of Arcadia became growing including local businesses such as chicken ranches as well as many other agricultural activities. During the period of the 1920 and 1930, the transition of Arcadia began as it grew more into a residential city, which is present today as all the small chicken ranches, and farms further gave way to numeric improvements and homes; this also included a City Hall and City Library. One can easily see many interesting and amazing historic sites as a means of series; they are all painted by the local artists. It now welcomes many tourists to the city who like to visit many shopping centers, historic places and entertainment areas; you can get to these in a jiffy by just making use of the Arcadia, CA Business directory and Arcadia, CA yellow pages.
