Lakewood is a city in the state of California that is located in the county of Los Angeles. This city is bordered by Long Beach, Bellflower, Hawaiian Gardens, and Cerritos. A major freeway that is called the San Gabriel River Freeway runs through the city of Lakewood. In the 1950s, there were many lima beans fields in the area. It became a city in the 1960s. There are beautiful landscaped medians and frontage roads in the residential districts. This city was featured in the Sports Illustrated magazine in 2005. Lakewood has a population of nearly 80,000. This city is a residential suburb. Beautiful parks and landscaped space covers about 150 acres.Major events and attractions take place in Lakewood year round.
