Norwalk ,CA is located in the southern part of Los Angeles County with a population of over 103,000 people as of US Census reports from 2009. The area of land of the city is at about 9.3 square miles with only 0.1 of this being water. There are four zip codes included in the area, which are 90650, 90651, 90652 and 90659, with one area code of 562. The suburban city of Norwalk consists of several diverse ethnicities including just under 45% White Americans, approximately 63% Hispanics, 11.5% Asians, 4.6% African Americans, less than 1% Pacific Islanders, and just above 1% Native Americans. About 33% percent of the population consists of people that are racially mixed. To get to the city of Norwalk ,CA one has many options, including three major interstates: interstate 105, interstate 605, and interstate 5, which is the Santa Ana Freeway. There is also a route through the city by way of US state route 91.The land of Norwalk is filled with much rich history. Its initial existence consisted of Native American whom first occupied the land. Spanish settlers soon followed by the late 1700s.

The Mexican American war that followed ended the long stretch of rule by Spanish settlers and the land of Norwalk, which was then known as North-Walk, was incorporated as a Union of the state of California. Decades to follow, by the late 1800s, the land began building railroads and becoming a land of trade, where soon after the name for the city known as Norwalk came into existence.The city of Norwalk ,CA has many attractions and places to visit for locals and visitors alike. The city is also famous for housing many of Hollywood's blockbuster movies, including; The Karate Kid, Speed, Grease 2, Life, and Best Men, just to name a few. There are places like the cultural arts center that is filled with many cultural exhibits for people to learn from. There is a teen center dedicated to the young adults for safe and wholesome fun and even a golf course for dad to get away and practice on the swing.
