About Construction & Contractors
Glass coating and tinting is one of the process made to a glass that features adding a coating barrier to the glass in order to add lustrous look to it and to provide added protection against cracks. Also tinting the glass is another option to reduce the passage of light to reduce radiation. They are mainly used in commercial buildings for privacy purposes. Glass coating can be classified into two categories: Protection coating or color coating. Protection coating is providing a layer of protection to the glass to prevent cracks or other damages. An application of a surface coating is the most common process involved. Glass can be coated using powder or spray-on-liquid. Powder coating is a type of coating applied as a dry powder. It does not require a solvent to bind the mixture into a liquid form. The coating is applied electrostatically and is cured under the heat in order to form a skin-type coating. Powder coating can be recycled and can be used again. It produces less hazardous waste than liquid coatings and it produces much thicker coating than the spray coatings. The liquid spray coating consists of pure silica that is extracted from quartz sand and water or ethanol. The spray produce a water-resistant coating on the glass and it is environmentally harmless and non-toxic. It also repels bacteria, water and dirt, and heat resistant. Unlike powder coating, liquid coating is breathable and it can also be used on plants and seeds. Color coating is a process where paint is applied to the glass. It can be coated in the means of electrochromic process, oil based, matte, enamel, air-dried, or self-adhesive.

More on Glass Coating - Tinting Commercial
Glass tinting is sometimes used to reduce the glare of light and decrease the level of heat that is entering the building or a car. It can be done either in a chemical process or applying a window film to either on or between glass sheets after it has been made. Window filming is the most common type of glass tinting where it is the simplest process available. It composed of a polyester substrate and a scratch protective coating is applied on one side and a mounting adhesive layer and the release liner on the other side. They are an excellent against solar heat, glare, and UV rays but most commonly used as a privacy tint. Glass coating & tinting can be sometimes affordable, especially when you decide to go to your local dealer. Always make sure to research the limits of glass coating and tinting for it may vary depending on the state laws.
