Rowland Heights is a community that is located near the San Gabriel Valley. Take a look at the history that is behind this particular city. John Rowland and William Workman were granted some land through the Mexican Land grant. The property that they were given was called the Rancho La Puente. They divided the land and John was given the eastern part of it. When Rowland Heights was built, they put it on top of a pig farm, but you can not even tell. Rowland Heights has been where majority of the people that immigrated from Korea have made their home. Their has also been a rise in the number of people who are immigrating from the country of China as well. Many people that live in China come to Rowland Heights because of its advertisements. The advertisements that are displayed in China depict china as being one of the best places to say if you are going to come to California because of the residential areas. They also say that it has great places for you to go shopping. Latinos, like the African Americans, do not have the luxury of staying in some of the higher priced homes because they just simply can not afford it. Majority of the Latinos have made the lower, flattened out part of this city their home.
Unlike most of the cities that are in Los Angeles, the highest population of individuals is the Asians. They account for more than half of the population. The whites only make up about twenty nine percent of the population of Rowland Heights. The percentage of the whites is not that far behind the percentage of Hispanics and Latinos. The percentage of this group of people, the Hispanics and Latinos, is twenty eight percent of the population of the people who reside in Rowland Heights. The rest of the population consist of people from other races people who are of more than one race as well as the African Americans, only two percent of the population, and Native Americans. This is a small synopsis of the people who reside in the city of Rowland Heights. This city is home to mostly Asians. They are beginning to take over this particular city in Rowland Heights.
