Santa Ana is a city in the state of California and it lies in Orange County. The population of the city is near to 360,000. The Santa Ana Freeway runs through the city and this is how the city got its name. This is the second largest metro area in the US. The city is made of flat low-lying plains. To the west of the city is the Santa Ana Rivier. Several major floods was caused by the river in the 20th century. Retail businesses and housing is located in the downtown area. The civic center and courthouse is also part of the downtown district. On the east side of the city is the Santa Ana Zoo. This zoo is known for its collection of monkeys and many other species of animals from South and Central America.
Santa Ana has a Mediterranean climate. In the winter, the weather is mild and wet. In the summer, it is dry or warm and sunny. In the winter the temperatures can reach a low of about 60 degrees. The temperatures in the summer is mild and ranges between 80 and 90 degrees. This area only receives about 14 inches of rain a year and it usually rains from November to April. Santa Ana's economy is based on paint businesses, technology, colleges, and credit unions.
