Santa Clarita is a city that is located in the state of California in Los Angeles County. This city was rated by the FBI as one of the safest cities in the US to live. It was ranked as number 18 out of 100 by a popular magazine, as a great place to live. Amusements parks and art are some of the main attractions. It is placed as one of the top areas in the US for wildfire activity. The climate of Santa Clarita is very warm and dry. It has very little rainfall and hot, dry summers. It is located close to the Mojave Desert. This city has many hills that are covered in brush. From late summer to early autumn is the fire season here. Temperatures can reach 100 degrees, even in early October. Winter are really mild and at times the temperatures can drop below freezing. When it snows it is rare.
Public schools, colleges, and universities make up the school system of Santa Clarita. This city offers a lot of recreational facilities and programs. Youth friendly activities are quite popular here. A large aquatic park offers swimming, diving, pools, along with a bicycle and skatepark. More than 17 parks are located in Santa Clarita. Many of these parks include tennis and basketball courts, baseball, and soccer fields. Music concerts often take place at some of the parks on the weekends. Santa Clarita also hosts a Mararthon that is held every November.
