Loveland, Colorado is a well known city in northern Colorado. It is located approximately 50 miles north of the Mile High city of Denver. Loveland sits at 4,982 feet above sea level, slightly lower than Denver's mile high status. The city of Loveland, Colorado was founded in 1877. Many traditions and activities revolving around Valentine's Day take place in the Sweetheart City during February. One of the most well known traditions is Loveland's valentine remailing program. The city receives valentines from all over the world to be remailed through Loveland's post office. A special postmark is stamped on the valentines that are remailed through the program.
