The fire department's jurisdiction is ordered by the governmental body that manages the department, even though there are private fire departments as well. This comes from a city, county, region, state or nation type of government. The most frequent type of government control is at the city level. Inside the jurisdiction the department would setup its organization, which deals with the position of fire stations, equipment and employees within the area of control. Fire departments once in a while study their jurisdiction areas and use the information for redistributing proper coverage. The majority of information comes from travel time and range or a population study. This brings about like service to the communities and provides the department a resourceful place to open operations.
