Orlando, Florida was not always the tourist attraction that we know it as now. Orlando, Florida has an abundance of history . It starts back in the 1830s during the Seminole Wars with the Us Army. That was also when the Us Army established Fort Gatlin, which was to protect the settlers from Seminole attacks. Thankfully, in 1832, the U.S. Signed the Seminole treaty. In 1875 Orlando, Fl was incorporated and named after Orlando Reeves who was a guard from the first fort.
In the 1880s the South Florida railroad came through which opened many doors for land developers. Land developers did not despair over the Great Freeze of 1895 they continued to establish central Florida as you can see presently in the Orlando, Florida business directory. Another very interesting fact is that Dick Pope, Sr. is accredited with opening the first tourist attraction in 1936. The weather has a very tropical feel to it in the summer. In the winter, you do not have to deal with the snow and ice that the north has. It might get a little chilly, but other than that, it has one of the nicest climates in the south. From May to September it is pretty rainy in Orlando with July being the wettest getting around 18cm of rain. From October to April is considered the dry season with reasonable temperatures. All in all Orlando, Florida is a great place for the family to vacation or for company conventions. It also has a wonderful history. The Orlando, Florida climate is great for just about every occasion.
