Residing in Seminole County, Florida is the city of Winter Springs. This 14.4 square mile city is located just 15 miles North of Orlando. Winter Springs is one of the luckier cities that didn't hit a financial downturn when the economy dropped. They have been able to survive without cutting most of the town services and not raising property taxes. Over the past decade, the employment rate has gone up 3%, with the median family income at $79,713 a year. It is home to many technology jobs such as Siemens, Lockheed Martin and the University of Central Florida. A town center is in the works, and you can find all the current places available for shopping, food and entertainment in the Winter Springs, FL Yellow Pages and the Winter Springs, FL Business Directory.
Despite the city’s population of over 33,000 people, it is not a very tight-knit community. The construction and idea of the town center is believed to help fix that, combining offices with apartments, restaurants, and a park. With the close proximity to Orlando, they are also exposed to all the wonderful attractions there like Sea World, Disney World and Universal Studios. Winter Springs is working hard towards a good future and it was 97th in Money Magazine's top 100 places to live among small towns.
