Lewiston, Idaho is one of those hidden treasures of Idaho that makes such a great place for you and your family to travel to. Lewiston, Idaho is actually the second largest city of all Northern Idaho and borders Washington. The history of this amazing city goes all the way back to 1805 with the Lewis & Clark Expedition, in which Lewis & Clark discovered natives who were settle in the area and were called the Nez Perce tribe. The tribe name has carried through history and Lewiston, Idaho resides in what is called Nez Perce county. At one point Lewiston was the capital of Idaho, but during the era of the Gold Rush the capital was eventually moved and called Boise.

With weather and temperatures in Lewiston averaging in the 30s during the winter seasons and around the high 80s in the summer, the weather overall seems to be great. When visiting Lewiston, Idaho you have so many things to explore. You can make a stop at the Lewis & Clark Center for Art & History, you could take a trip to the Port of Lewiston, your family could sight see the famous Hell's Canyon or you could go on a tour of the Historic Trails. For more fun tours around Lewiston, you may want to check out the Kooskia Fish Hatchery or for some night time adult action you could try out the Clearwater Casino for a night of entertainment and gambling.

Now if you or your family are a bit more into the amusement park style of fun, then you would enjoy the Silverwood Theme Park. With over 60 rides and roller coasters your family is sure to have a great time. Silverwood Theme Park has been named one of the largest roller coaster parks in all of the North West and is packed with a tons of great games, food and rides. Finally, if you decide to visit Lewiston, Idaho during the winter months you would want to make sure you visit the Activity Barn Tubing Park. This park is dedicated to snow sledding and snow tubing and is more fun than you could ever imagine that you would have in the snow without skis or a snowboard. It has four lanes that are specifically for snow tubing. Grab your tube and catch the lift all the way up the 700ft hill to the top and race your friends and family down to the bottom.
