East Moline is part of the Quad Cities located at the Illinois and Iowa border. East Moline sits in the upper Northwest of the state of Illinois and in the county of Rock Island. The other cities creating the Quad Cities are Rock Island, Moline, Davenport, and Bettendorf. East Moline sometimes is considered the silent partner in the quad. But with 21,000 residents and plenty of things to do, East Moline hardly plays second fiddle to any city. East Moline may not have huge attractions, but they do attract residents due to their location and the cost of living. They have a great central community, where their needs are met through public offices and a good quality public works department. Residents can enjoy plenty of outdoor parks and recreation spots, and the Mississippi River slices through Illinois and Iowa. East Moline sits along the river and uses the expansive waterway for more than recreation. On any given Sunday, you can expect to find plenty of fishermen casting lines into the muddy waters pulling out giant catfish and other tasty fish treats.
East Moline also has Short Hills Country Club where visitors can knock out their golf game in a round of 18 or just hit the driving range for an afternoon of swing corrections and distance, long balls. The city also has a number of bars and nightlife entertainment that may appeal to certain crowds. The musical selections at the bars range from rock to country. There's plenty to do on a Friday night and neighboring cities often bring in more of a crowd if a band happens to be in town playing in East Moline. Outside of the city limits are various parks and recreational areas. East Moline has a number of outdoor areas perfect for hiking, biking, and camping. The area has a rich natural outdoors feel to it. The starry nights during the humid summers contrast with the crisp air felt from the passage of summer to fall. And the leaves in the area began to change and color into a vibrant palette. It's a picturesque scene,one that's been documented by cameras and film for generations. East Moline is an integral part of the Quad Cities. Located in Illinois along the Mississippi River, the modest city offers plenty of outdoor fun for the family and lively entertainment from various venues and bars.
