In Kendall County, Illinois, the village of Oswego amasses 6.7 square miles of land. From the 2000 census to the 2010 census, the population of this small village has more than doubled in size, going from 13,326 to 30,355. That could probably be attributed to the employment and job growth shooting up over 77% in that time period. It's a community surrounded by cornfields and is about an hour west of Chicago. The median family income is around $97,000 a year and the median home price around $219,000. Look through the Oswego, IL Yellow Pages and the Oswego, IL Business Directory and you will see many great recreations.
One of the village's biggest draws is the Fox River. Running through the middle of town, the Fox River allows canoeing, kayaking and fishing to be popular activities. With the huge jump in population, it is only expected that the village keep up with their development. Schools have already begun building additions and there are plans to widen the streets in order to accommodate the mass amount of people. Oswego was ranked 58th on Money Magazine's top 100 places to live among small towns for 2011.
