More on Clinics

Clinics are medical facilities that are smaller than hospitals, and are usually equipped to handle an array of basic medical issues and procedures. They aren't meant for in-patient stays and they're certainly not equipped to take care of surgeries and other major procedures. Some of the things usually done in clinics include checkups, tests (urine samples, blood tests, etc) and others. The doctors in clinics can prescribe medication as well so if you're having any pains or if you have common ailments like colds, runny nose, etc, you can head to clinic nearest to your location and have a physician check you out. You don't always need to have an appointment in clinics. Urgent care clinics for instance, open their doors even if you don't have an appointment. When it comes to costs and out of pocket expenses, the amounts will vary depending on the clinic as well as on the procedures, tests, or consults that needed to be done. To be safe, it's best to have insurance to ensure that you're covered in case a huge expense suddenly falls on your lap. Depending on your insurance policy, you may have a specific co-pay or you may need to pay a certain percentage of the entire bill. Call your insurance to be sure.
