About Muncie

The wonderful city of Muncie, Indiana, first settled by the Delaware Indians and currently the home of the famous Ball Mason jar corporation, is located in Center Township Delaware County in east central Indiana. The city boasts a population of just less than one hundred twenty thousand, according to the latest census reports. The Muncie, IN business directory boast many fine, thriving companies available to serve the public with all of their ongoing needs. The Muncie, IN yellow pages features both small and large businesses and those privately owned. There is something for everyone in the city. From child care to adult day care and many fine secondary schools as well as colleges and universities. In fact, Muncie is the home to the famous Ball State University, which was named after the mason jar company founder. There are lots of great art centers in the area as well as sports complexes. In fact, several famous sports players call this city their hometown and they continually make the city proud each time they come back to visit. A few famous politicians of note also make this city their home.

Because Muncie is considered to be a typical middle American community, there are lots of sociological studies that take place within the city. The industrial sector is largely considered to be the economic backbone of the city as well as one of the main arteries for the entire state of Indiana. For this reason, the studies center around raising families and working in factory driven towns and how that effects the entire nation. The entire nation relies on these types of folks to basically run the country's industrial complex and without them, the economy could in theory, come to a halt. There are towns and cities all across the country who share similar stories of pursuing the American dream. After all, that is what it is all about. Muncie is just small enough to be considered a small town and just large enough to have the diversity of many different cultures making this one of the finest towns in Indiana to live, work, and raise a family.
