About Restaurants
It seems today that people are on the go more than ever, we are in a hurry, with half hour lunches, after school activities, being pressed for time, we often head to the nearest drive-thru. For the longest time, this was the only option that was available to us, the fast food. But now, more local restaurant sandwich shops are opening in every city. For the longest time, there only was one local restaurant sandwich shop. Soon we began to see more local restaurant sandwich shops open, not only the big franchises, but little independent ones, that grew into much more then they imagined. Today, we have numerous local restaurant shops to choose from, and they are not limited to just sandwiches, and submarines. We now have our choice of Pita, Gyro, wraps, and Falafel to name a few. The local restaurant shop that serves up the old time favorite submarine still carries all our favorites, but now they have added to their menu more low fat and low cholesterol sandwiches. Trying to keep up with the economy, and more budget tight people, a foot long is more affordable than before. A Pita sandwich is basically described as lunch meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and dressing rolled in a pita. There are not only cold pitas, but oven baked pitas as well. There is over 40 different pita sandwiches available to order from the premium chicken pitas, ultra light pitas(less than 3 grams of fat), premier, Mexican, and breakfast. The local restaurant sandwich shops that serve up warm Gyros are many peoples favorite. The Gyro consists of a folded pita flat bread, shaved lamb, onions, cucumber sauce, and tomatoes. This sandwich is an old time favorite for many people.

More on Restaurants-Sandwich Shops
The local restaurant sandwich shops that serve up the wraps are different from the pitas, as they use tortillas. The tortillas are plain, spinach, whole wheat, and sun dried tomato flavored adding a little more of a twist to the normal rolled sandwich. The most recent local restaurant sandwich shop that is different than all the rest is the Falafel. It is best described as Middle Eastern vegetarian. Falafel itself is made of spices and chick peas. A Falafel is a pita pocket stuffed with fried falafel, layered with falafel balls, lettuce, tomatoes, egg plant, onions, hummus, and white sauce, generally wrapped in foil for easy dining on the go. At your local restaurant sandwich shop, you can find heart healthy alternatives to the fried sides that are offered at the fast food chains. With more and more people changing the way we eat, and watching our weight and cholesterol, these alternatives are a great addition. Some of the items they offer are: fruit, yogurt, salad, and bottled water in place of the soda. While looking for your nearest local restaurant sandwich shop, you can stick to the traditional, or try out something different. They all offer the same fast service, but with healthier alternatives to fried food, for our better life changing habits.
