Most of the people who work for your local National Guard work there part-time. Their service period usually consists of 1 weekend each month as well as a 2 week training period each year. This allows the members of your local National Guard to maintain a civilian life while also enjoy the benefits of military life at the same time, which means that they will receive an excellent benefits package, money for education and an opportunity to develop their career skills.
