Testing services may sound like something that concerns education, but they have nothing to do with schools. Most businesses know that testing services include a wide variety of things including asbestos, employee drug screening, drywall, fire safety, lead, food quality, mold, bacteria, and products to name a few. Many industries are required to perform these and other tests periodically by the federal government. State and municipal governments may have their own mandates as well. When it comes time to use testing services, make sure you choose the right local testing laboratory. There are some important factors to consider when selecting testing laboratories. You may be conducting a routine employee drug screen, which is not required by federal law. But if you are performing some kind examination to comply with government regulations, then you need to make sure you're dealing with a reputable and accurate laboratory. There are outlets where you can purchase your own testing equipment, but the government does not allow this practice for obvious reasons. If you want to conduct your own tests in a company lab as a method of ensuring accuracy, that is fine; however, these results cannot be substituted for those obtained by outside testing laboratories. That said, testing laboratories are certified by different government agencies, so you must ensure that you are dealing with a licensed provider.
