This city is located in Howard County. This city is one of the most historic cities that are located in Maryland. In the downtown area there is the B and O Railroad Museum Ellicott City Station. This station was built in the 1830s. Some of the things that you can do when you make a visit to the Ellicott City area include shopping. Downtown has some antique shops that you should check out. Ellicott City is one of the most affluent places that happen to be located in the entire county of Howard. There are many different shops and boutiques as well as restaurants that you will find downtown near the B and O Railroad Museum Ellicott City Station.There are some things that you have to take time to visit when you plan on visiting the area. You have to go see the Ellicott City Station. This is the only remaining historic train station that is still in service. It is not only is it the oldest one that is still standing in Ellicott City; it is one of the only that still remain in the world. Something else that you have to take time out of your schedule to see is the Enchanted Forest.
Even though this theme park is no longer up and running, you can still visit and see what the original theme park had and compare it to the things that are in the theme parks that have the same name had in common. You can also go see the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. They have produced many different productions. Make plans to see one of the productions that may be going on when you plan on visiting. Other things that you should consider taking a look at include the Trolley Line Number 9 Trail as well as the Shrine of Saint Anthony.The area of Ellicott City is divided into two areas. There is part of Ellicott City that has two high schools. You can choose to go to either of the districts, but Ellicott City only has two high schools altogether. The high schools are Centennial High School and Mount Hebron High School. The other school is a part of the Howard County school district. The name of that school is Marriott's Ridge High School. The middle schools that are located in Ellicott City are Dunloggin Middle, Mount View, Ellicott Mills, Patapsco, as well as Burleigh Manor. There are six elementary schools that are in the area.
