Montgomery Village is a suburb that is located in Gaithersburg. Gaithersburg is located in Montgomery County. Montgomery Village is a community that was planned and was built on 1962. The company that is responsible for this being built is Kettler Brothers, Inc. The first house was built in 1966 in Montgomery Village. A lot of work went into opening up the first model home in this area. In 1966 is when the Montgomery Village Foundation came to be. Schools were opened in two years later in 1968. Two years after that, The Village Mall was officially opened. The name has since changed and it is now called the Village Shopping Center. It is located off of Montgomery Village Avenue.There are seven elementary schools that are located in the Montgomery Village area. South Lake Elementary is one of the schools. Summit Hall Elementary is another elementary school. The other elementary schools include Laytonsville Elementary, Watkins Mill Elementary, Stedwick Elementary, Whetstone Elementary, and Goshen Elementary. There are three middle schools that are located in Montgomery Village. Forest Oak Middle School is one of them. The other two are Montgomery Village Middle School and Gaithersburg. There are two high schools here as well. Gaithersburg High School and Watkins Mill High School are the names of the high schools.
