In Hancock County, Maine, on Mount Desert Island, you will find the town of Bar Harbor. Its population, as of the 2010 census, is 5,235 residents. Incorporated in 1796, Bar Harbor is home to the largest parts of Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain. Acadia National Park is one of the most visited parks in the nation, providing a great backdrop to the gorgeous seaside location. The town amasses 70.4 square miles of total area, with 42.2 square miles being land, the other 28.2 square miles being water.

You will also find the College of the Atlantic, which offers a bachelor's and master's degree, only in the field of human ecology. With such great views, Bar Harbor is a much visited spot for tourists, especially in the summer season. It's a great place for travel, but heavily visited which will mean a big crowd most of the time.
