About Minneapolis

Minneapolis, Minnesota is the center for culture, finance and education in the area known as Upper Midwest. It is a clean, safe city that has a lot to offer both inhabitants and visitors. Even though this city is set apart from other major cities, it is still famous for its theater scene, art museums and musical concerts. During the summertime, free live concerts are held each day on Lake Harriet and when it comes to classical music the Minnesota Orchestra, which is counted as one of the best twelve in the country, can be heard in performances that take place throughout the year. Other famous places to see in Minneapolis, Minnesota include the Guthrie Theater, the Children's Theater and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, which is home to one of the largest contemporary art displays.

The city, often nicknamed the "Mill City," "City of Water" or referred to as one of the "Twin Cities" due to the fact it is separated from the city of St. Paul only by a narrow part of the Mississippi River, is an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. Minneapolis is home to twenty-four large lakes and in the metropolitan area there are more than a thousand lakes. On top of that there are many large parks, as well as opportunities to go on hikes, long bike rides or canoeing. The only drawback to this city for some is the long, cold winter and even this should not be considered a problem since the entire downtown area is connected by a series of skyways. These skyways cover more than forty blocks and connect every building in the downtown district so that going outside to get from one to another is not even necessary.

However, finding everything in the Mill City is not always easy considering just how much is being offered at any given time. The Minneapolis, Minnesota yellow pages is a good source of information and is a great starting point for anyone in the need of certain services in the city. Another great source to turn to is the Minneapolis, Minnesota business directory. Both of these can be found online and the search tools available can narrow down the results so that only useful addresses and companies will be displayed.
