These companies often work in particular niche industries such as law enforcement or accounting. Some software programs can be downloaded for free or at least, on a no cost trial basis. Trials are good for sampling different products temporarily. It is quite common for people to download anti-virus software in order to test its effectiveness before buying from a local merchant. Free computer software does not have a very good reputation and inexperienced users should be wary of contracting a virus this way. No one should download programs unless they know where they are coming from as even highly knowledgeable computer techs contract viruses via downloads.
