About Saint Joseph
The city of Saint Joseph, Missouri has a population of approximately 72,000 people. About ninety percent of those people are of Caucasian descent. It is located about 30 minutes north of Kansas City, Missouri on Interstate 29. Some of the notable historical events that occurred in this city are the Pony Express and Jesse James. The Pony Express traveled through the area, and Jesse James was shot there as well. The city was settled in 1826 as a trading post.
There are many things for tourists to do while visiting St. Joseph, Missouri. Among the various attraction are places for outdoor activities like tennis and swimming. There is an ice-skating rink and bowling available too. The city has 31 different parks available to visitors, including Hyde Park and Krug Park. Krug Park has a castle, rose gardens, and much more that is pleasing to the eye. It offers a great photo opportunity while on vacation.
There are many museums, including the art museum called the Albrecht-Kemper museum. Also there is a Pony Express museum. Tourists can visit the Symphony, the Civic arena, or even play miniature golf at Cool Crest. If shopping is desired, there is a nice mall on East Hills road with a variety of shops. There are also many restaurants for dining nearby the area. One of the best places to take children in St. Joseph, Missouri is the Remington Nature center. There are a variety of taxidermy animals to see, exhibits to provide education about different animals, and a gift shop where memorabilia or gifts can be purchased. It also has a snack bar to eat it if hunger strikes during the visit. There are a lot of attractions to visit in St. Joseph, Missouri even though the city is not that big. It will keep everyone in the family entertained with the variety of activities available.
