A census-designated place with a population of 1,421 residents as of the 2000 census, Bigfork is located in Flathead County, Montana. Encompassing 5.9 square miles of total area, Bigfork sits atop an elevation of 2,979 feet above sea level. This small village is located overlooking a small bay on the eastern side of Flathead Lake, a beautiful lake with 180 miles of shoreline, making it the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi.
