About Wilson

If a vacation is in your future, then Wilson, NC is sure to be on your radar. Being a very strong family oriented community with a current elevation registering at 144 feet, this gives Wilson, NC a wonderful atmosphere as far as weather is concerned. Just in the year of 2011 alone the highest recorded temperature was only 102 degrees. With the weather on your side, be sure to refer to the Wilson, NC business directory to find your main landmarks in the town. I am referring to the Arts Council on Nash St, The NC Baseball Museum at Fleming Stadium or even the Oliver Nestus Freeman Round House Museum that was built in 1946; and yes it is a round house!

There is also much information listed in the Wilson, NC yellow pages to direct you in the best direction. If it is adventure or museums you are looking for Wilson, NC has it all for you and it is all local, too. There is a science and technology center called Imagination Station that is actually located inside the old Historic Wilson Federal Courthouse that was built in 1928. If you are curious about the farm life and what it was like, then do not end your visit without taking part in the Tobacco Farm Life. This is an actual farm that shows exactly how farm life was for families when they lived and worked in the tobacco industry. There are actual artifacts, an original farm house, and nothing can beat the sweet smell of tobacco.

There is one thing that you need to know about Wilson, NC; it is a town of approximately 48,000 people as of 2009; however it is a very close knit town and there is much to do for adults and children. There is a parks and recreation department that is committed to promoting health and wellness among the community. Yoga, aerobics, baseball, and several other activities and sports are offered. This park is maintained by the community for the most part. The community themselves come together to clean and maintain the parking lots and play areas for the children.
