The city of Manchester, New Hampshire is located in the most northeastern part of the United States of America. The area is part of New England, of course. It is ranked 13 out of 100 in a list of best cities to live in, and was also voted by Forbes magazine the number one cheapest place to live. Manchester is located in Hillsborough County, in the Southern parts of New Hampshire. It is the largest city in New Hampshire, although still relatively small, considering it is only 35 square miles. Due to its northern proximity, it is known for long, harsh winters and relatively cool summers. It averages 47 inches of snow per season.

Checking the Manchester, New Hampshire business directory, one can find that it is served by four newspapers, including; New Hampshire Union Leader, the Manchester Express, The Hippo, and the Manchester Mirror. Manchester has it's own school district including four high schools. They are Manchester High School West, Manchester High School Central, Manchester Memorial High School, and the Manchester School of Technology. It also has many private Roman Catholics schools. The Verizon Wireless Arena is considered the main attraction of Manchester. It is used for sports and concerts, and can easily seat 10,000 people. The Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the main airfield for the city, due to its close proximity to Boston it is often used as a secondary airport. In the 2000 census Manchester contained 107,219 residents, and it was estimated in 2009 that as many as 109,395 residents are now living in the city. That would make the population density around 3,241 people per square mile. During the late 80s and early 90s, Manchester earned the title "ManchVegas" due to many illegal gambling busts in legitimate businesses. These businesses were using video pokers and other video game machines to pay out real money.
