New Jersey is located on the east coast of the United States of America. It borders three states: New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Meanwhile, its eastern coast meets with the Atlantic Ocean. New Jersey's present day land was originally home to the Native Americans. However, in the year 1664, it became a part of England's territory. It was in the midst of the English Civil War that the land became known as the Province of New Jersey. Eventually, due to the result of the American Revolution, New Jersey became a part of America. In fact, it was one of United States original thirteen colonies. Today, close to 9 million people reside in the state of New Jersey. More than two thirds of New Jersey's population is White. Almost 18 percent of the population is Hispanic, about 14 percent are African Americans, more than 8 percent are Asian, and less than one percent is Native Americans.
New Jersey is the country's most densely populated state. It is also the state with the second greatest amount of affluently wealthy people.When compared to other states in America, New Jersey's residents are rather diverse when it comes to their religion and ethnicity. People that practice the Muslim religion are well represented in the state of New Jersey. The same holds true for people of the Jewish faith. Also, Italians, Arabs, Indians, Koreans, Chinese, Filipino, Irish, Polish, and Germans are all well accounted for in the state of New Jersey. Besides English, a lot of different languages are also spoken in New Jersey. Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog, Italian, Creole, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Tamil, Gujarati, Telegu, Hindi, and Korean languages are spoken by a significant number of people residing in the state of New Jersey.
New Jersey is a good place to be a student. The state spends more money on each student than most of the other states. In fact, the only state to spend more money on its students is the state of New York. New Jersey has many colleges and universities for students to choose from. The most prestigious school, of course, being Princeton University.The state of New Jersey has many different entertaining options for both its residents and visitors. People can spend the day at a museum or theme park. They can enjoy some professional sports. Or they can test their luck by gambling in one of Atlantic City's many casinos.
