About Cape May

The city of Cape May is located at the southern tip of Cape May Peninsula in Cape May County, New Jersey. Living true to its motto, Cape May is one of the country's oldest vacation and seashore resort destinations. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the year-round population of Cape May is 3,607 residents, however, that number swells to as many as 40,000 to 50,000 when visitors from all over come for the summer. The entire city of Cape May has been designated as the Cape May Historic District, and is labeled as a National Historic Landmark because of its commitment to their Victorian-style buildings. In the Cape May, NJ Business Directory, you can find the Washington Street Mall which provides much of the city's economy through shops, restaurants, lodging and attractions for tourists.

It is easy to see why so many people come to this city. Looking through the Cape May, NJ Yellow Pages, you will find Victorian structures and award winning beaches, making Cape May one of America's Top 10 beaches by the Travel Channel and the fifth ranked New Jersey according to the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest. It offers many cultural events as well, playing host to the Cape May Jazz Festival, the Cape May Music Festival and the Cape May, New Jersey Film Festival. For those interested in the arts, the city is home to Equity theaters Cape May Stage and East Lynne Theater Company, and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts, providing year-round art classes.
