Corvallis, Oregon sits in the Northeast portion of the state. The city is the home of the Oregon State University. As of the 2010 census, the population numbered 54,462. The city has a long history in Oregon with roots dating back to 1845. The name Corvallis comes from the Latin cor vallis that literally means heart of the valley. Corvallis is ten miles south of Albany and sits close to Interstate 5. The major employer is not surprisingly the Oregon State University.
