Oregon is a city in Douglas County, Oregon, located just 2 miles off the Interstate 5. At the time of the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was 954. The city covers a total area of 0.7 square miles, almost all land, and sits at an elevation of 430 feet above sea level. Oakland was the first city in Oregon to be places on the state's historic register in May of 1968. Many of the buildings in the city's two-block business district date back to the 1880s and 1890s.
