Pan, Traditional or Thin? Pizza Hut is now a huge corporation that has revolutionized the traditional pizza. Their first break out star was the introduction of the delicious pan style crust that became quite the craze and helped launch this popular chain to become a true favorite. With its roots based in Wichita, Kansas where the first Pizza Hut was introduced to the public in 1958, it was a new idea not done before. Two brothers Dan and Frank, were encouraged by friends to start a pizza place which was not a normality of the day. Borrowing $600 dollars, they launched their pizza place and only a year later their stardom was secured as the Pizza Hut brand became incorporated and the first franchise restaurant was opened in Topeka Kansas in 1959.
