Shoppers are able to get in and out easily, with a much shorter walk to the store than one might find at a major mall. All local shopping centers & malls attempt to attract a wide variety of stores to their facilities. Other than major department or clothing stores, most feature entertainment stores that sell music and videos. Sporting goods stores are another hallmark of local shopping centers & malls. Major book sellers are now commonplace in these centers, as are large toy stores. Service-oriented stores have been finding a home in local shopping centers & malls for some time. One can find banks, eyeglass and contact lens providers, hair and nail salons, and even pet care providers.
