El Paso is the 22nd largest city in the United States and the 6th largest city in Texas. It has an arid climate with extremely hot winters and dry mild winters. Even though El Paso doesn't get a whole lot of rain each year, it is still a city subject to flooding which happens from time to time. In 2006, the city received 15 inches of rain within a week causing public infrastructure damage at an estimate of 21 million dollars and 77 million dollars in the residential and commercial sector. Business and education seem to be a major force in El Paso, because at least 70 businesses named in the fortune five hundred magazine have offices in El Paso. Fort Bliss being the main site for the United States Army is also a major contributor to the city's economy. The city is full of wonderful schools, theatres, sites full of activities for family fun, and many museums that teach about the history and culture in El Paso.

El Paso is considered to be one of the best locations for retirement living and is known for providing state of the art medical facilities, cultural and entertainment opportunities, year round sports and outdoor recreation, and a favorable cost of living. This city is also known for its extremely low crime rate and the best weather conditions anyone in the world could ask for. At least 7 out of 10 people are bilingual, consisting of Spanish and English. Many people all over the world come to El Paso, and not just to visit, but to live, work, get an education, and to plain out have fun. El Paso is a very friendly community with many social events available regularly. It is also one of the most popular retirement countries in the world.
