The CNN Money magazine in 2005 had declared Plano in the state of Texas as the best place to live in the Western United States. The city of Plano has also received many more accolades for its outstanding living and safety conditions and overall high standards of living from both the quarters of media and governmental agencies alike. Plano is located just a few miles away north of downtown Dallas. The settlers came in to the present day city toward 1840 and christened it Plano, meaning flat in Spanish, after its plateau-like terrain. With passage of time, the city grew in size of its population and other amenities. Today it is home to headquarters of big corporations including J.C.
