This article is a little city in Utah called Orem, The residents of Orem have a little nickname for the town, and it's called, The Family State. Orem was settled in 1877 The City of Orem's Mayor is Jerry Washburn. This whole town has 18 square miles of land. Orem in 4,774 feet above sea level, so when you get there your going to have to acclimatize to the weather out in Utah. Orem has a population of 88,328 since 2010. The city of Orem got its name from Walter C. Orem, who used to operate the local railroad line into the neighboring town towns Now, here are the demographics:80% White, o.33% African American, 0.73% Native American, 1.43% Asian, 0.86% Pacific Islander, 18% Latino, 8.56% call other races. The city Orem also has its own school district called Alpine School District. Every June the city Orem holds a summer-fest celebration and Timpanogos Story Tell Festival. There are 6,129 residents who are currently employed in Orem, making 82,192 people are still unemployed. Most of the stores in Orem are private businesses.
Orem is next to some pretty cool places, they border the town of Provo, Lake Utah, the Timpanogos Mountains, and the University of Utah is there as well. Orem, Utah is located in the Mountain time zone. Orem also a baseball team, in the pioneer division, and there team name is call Orem Owls. In 2005, Forbes magazine rated Orem to be one of the top 5 places live and raise a family in 2010. The town of Orem resides in Utah County, Orem has more parks then the entire nation.The City of Orem has everything that you would want to see in you lifetime, but if you are going to go, go in June. That way you wont miss the festivals, and that only happens in June. So, you have to go see it for your self. There also is a neighboring town called Provo that you can visit, and most all you can go see the beautiful Utah lake. So have fun!!!
