More on Cosmetic Tattoos

Licensed local cosmetic tattoo artists are important, because of the process. A cosmetic tattoo is much like a regular tattoo. The artist will draw on your skin with a surgeon's pen where the makeup will appear. Then the tattooist will apply a topical anesthetic gel, and will begin the cosmetic tattooing process. Every time the hollow needle penetrates your skin it will leave behind a small amount of the dye in the hole. You should get a patch test done, even though most people are not allergic to tattooing. The cosmetic tattoo will appear very dark and shiny; this will fade to the true colors over the course of three weeks. Use antibiotic creams to help the tattoo heal, and ward off infections.
