Burlington, Vermont offers a quiet and nice place to live, as well as a place for vacation. Burlington is beautiful and peaceful in the summer, picturesque in the spring and fall, and covered in snow in the winter. All seasons attract a wide variety of visitors and regular inhabitants.
As seen in the Vermont Yellow Pages and Burlington, Vermont business directory, there are a wide variety of attractions such as colleges, shops, and lakeside restaurants. This ensures that the population of Burlington is thriving. Burlington also boasts a cobblestone street just for pedestrians lined with restaurants, bars, street vendors, and stores right off of Lake Champlain. Just a few steps away from the bustling city atmosphere is the vast Lake Champlain, offering ferry ride, boating, and swimming experiences. The city itself is located in Northern Vermont. It is approximately a six hour drive north from NYC or just a short flight away. It is also only about an hour south from the Canadian border depending on which border one travels to. Seeing as it is so far north, the winters can be very harsh. Temperatures can reach all the way into the negatives on many days throughout the winter. It can get even colder if the wind chill from Lake Champlain is factored in, which Burlington is right next to. It is during these winters however, that ski and snowboard enthusiasts travel up towards the Burlington area to enjoy the culture at night and the mountains during the day.
The spring and fall climate are both very moderate. Spring time shows the lush green colors that have been hidden all winters, and it is reflected not only in the many fields scattered with cows and horses just outside the city area, but also in the mountains which are seen on the skyline and cannot be missed. Fall is not nearly as green, but is extremely beautiful when the leaves start changing colors. Maps are offered in Burlington that show the highest peak times for optimum color viewing of leaves. A short drive down a Burlington road can show a scenic view of color and festivity. No matter what season, Burlington Vermont is thriving, and many people choose to visit to enjoy the culture and serenity of the town.
