Bellevue Washington is most known for being an overflow or satellite city for Seattle as many began settling there to escape the hustle of the big city. However, this influx of residents caused it to grow beyond the small town it started out as. The population now stands at 123,593 making it a large city in itself. Washington is the second largest city and the sixth wealthiest city in the state of Washington with the median income being $66.836. Census information ranks its population as 73% White, 27% Asian, 3% Black or African American. Bellevue has repeatedly been ranked as one of the best places in America to live.
Bellevue is one of the most beautiful places to live or to visit. Its name is even French for beautiful view. It also boasts of beautiful mountains jutting into the sky. The famous Olympic Mountains and Cascade Mountains can be viewed almost anywhere and provides some of the most challenging and beautiful hikes imaginable. The city also has some large lakes including Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish. The weather for outdoor activities is also ideal with winter averages not dropping below 40 degrees and summer highs not averaging above 76 degrees.In addition to beautiful landscapes, the Bellevue Community Services Department has made arrangements to ensure there are safe places for sports and recreation of all kinds that compare to the beauty that Bellevue has to offer. They manage over 2,500 acres of area that include Botanical Gardens as well as public parks and other areas.
One large accomplishment that Bellevue boasts of is there education system. Their education system has been repeatedly ranked among the top public education school districts and schools in the country. They are constantly striving to educate kids for the future at every level and most notable as was outlined in Newsweek's feature, their four high schools are tops in propelling students to that next level of higher education for a life filled with learning.Bellevue is also very economically advanced which offers many large companies that employ residents. Also, many money earners reside in Bellevue that works in Seattle and Redmond which are nearby. However, Bellevue is home to Microsoft, one of the largest and most profitable corporations in America. It also is home to many large, medium, and small businesses especially technology companies such as Bungie, 5th Cell, and ArenaNet.
