Leavenworth is a city in Chelan County, Washington spanning across 1.3 square miles. As of the 2010 Census, the population of Leavenworth was 1,965 residents. Rebuilt with Bavarian Style architecture, the town is home to the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, which contains over 5,000 different nutcrackers that date as far back as the prehistoric age. Leavenworth is surrounded by the Wenatchee National Forest, providing it with the Wenatchee River, which flows near downtown. It also provides beautiful scenery with small mountains. One of the biggest draws of the town as well, Leavenworth is home to the annual Oktoberfest celebration, claimed to be one of the most attended in the world outside of Munich, Germany. The Bavarian architecture, the wonderful dining and shopping locations, the holidays and the annual Oktoberfest celebration make this town a small town gem.
