Contrary to what others may think, you don't have to be a formal business or organization to have uniforms. Even informal groups such as a friendly blowing team or a circle of friends can choose to have uniforms if they want to. The purpose of a uniform after all is to communicate solidarity and to have a sense of consistency within members of a group. When deciding on what type of uniform to wear, you need to think in terms of the group as a whole. What's the image that you want to project? What are the predominant themes in your group? More importantly, what makes your group unique? Answering these questions will help you decide the colors and design of your uniform. Other questions that you'll need to ask will pertain to how the uniform will be used. If you will be sitting behind desks or won't be doing a lot of walking and physical activity then you can probably get away with more stylish maybe even trendier uniforms. However, if you'll be doing a lot of physical activities such as running, lifting, and the like, the go for a uniform that offers a lot of comfort over style.
